Take the guesswork out of tree care

Most urban tree failures are preventable. With the right scientific approach, you can understand the true condition of your trees, manage risks before they escalate, and plan with confidence.

Why reactive management costs more than you think

Too often, urban forest management is based on appearances. Trees are selected for aesthetics without consideration of local conditions. Health issues go undetected until visible decline. Risk assessments rely on outdated methods or unverified intuition.

The result is avoidable loss, safety concerns, reputational damage and escalating maintenance costs.

You don’t need to wait for decline before acting. ArborCarbon provides defensible, science-led arboricultural services that help you make informed decisions, safeguard assets and support healthy urban ecosystems.

The truth about arboricultural services

This is not tree pruning or removal. It’s independent, research-backed tree assessment that gives you a clear picture of health, risk and long-term viability.

We combine field expertise with data from advanced sensors and decades of ecological research. Our team includes certified TRAQ and QTRA professionals who ensure every recommendation is grounded in internationally recognised risk frameworks.

Whether you're selecting trees for a new development or managing ageing urban canopies, we bring precision, objectivity and sustainability into every decision.

What we deliver

  • Independent tree health diagnosis with clear, actionable findings
  • Accurate risk assessments backed by TRAQ and QTRA methodologies
  • Tree selection for landscape success based on scientific suitability
  • Strategic management programs that extend tree lifespan and reduce failure risk

The challenge

The City of Wagga needed to develop an Urban Cooling Strategy to increase community health, well-being and resilience through planning more sustainable future developments.

The solution

ArborCarbon deployed their aircraft and high-resolution airborne ArborCam system to map 318km canopy cover, vegetation condition, surface temperatures, and urban heat islands. The work supported the development of their Award-Winning Urban Cooling Strategy 2022-2052.

The impact

  • Identified cool and heat island dynamics with precision
  • Informed targeted urban greening initiatives
  • Helped secure long-term council funding for canopy expansion
  • City of Wagga won the Local Government NSW Excellence in the Environment Award for their Urban Cooling Strategy
“ArborCarbon’s Urban Heat and Canopy Mapping Tool is a great way for the community to see current land surface temperatures and canopy heights, and then implement cooling mechanisms. Council has already started to implement actions from the document including planting trees around local parks and along Active Travel Paths to help cool the city.”

ArborCarbon acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.
