Peter is a plant pathologist and environmental scientist recognised for his expertise in biosecurity, invasive species management, and ecosystem conservation. His career spans forestry, horticulture, and natural area management, with a focus on diagnosing, managing, and eradicating damaging plant pathogens such as Phytophthora and myrtle rust.
Peter’s research has been widely published and cited, providing governments, conservation groups, and industry with advanced tools to safeguard biodiversity. His long-standing work with the Dieback Working Group and academic institutions has strengthened understanding of how pathogens spread, and how ecosystems can be restored to resilience.
At ArborCarbon, Peter applies his scientific knowledge to practical outcomes in forest health management, carbon sequestration, and ecological restoration. Skilled in GIS, spatial data analysis, and remote sensing, he helps clients identify threats early and implement strategies that protect vegetation assets. Peter is also a committed mentor, guiding postgraduate students in the next generation of ecosystem health research.
